Ingredients

Directions

Fruit breads are pretty convenient when it comes to breakfast ideas, as they can be stored for several days without changing their taste. Sure, it isn’t the lightest kind of pastry, as it’s oil-based, but you won’t forget this pear bread. Pears are grated first, and they completely melt within the bread once it’s baked. The actual flavor may make you think that some honey is added, if the right kind of pears is used.

Steps

1
Done

Prepare all necessary bread ingredients: wash eggs, pears and raisins. Measure all the rest.

2
Done

Grab a large bowl and mix the flour, baking powder and salt.

3
Done

Don't forget to soak your raisins in 5 tbsp of brandy - they'll need some time to soak up nicely.

4
Done

Add some spices - cinnamon and nutmeg may certainly become your great choice, but experimenting is also a great way, so get allspice, vanilla beans, cloves or poppy seeds next time.

5
Done

Chop your walnuts, but don't feel too enthusiastic - when chunks of nuts are slightly bigger, they will give you the nice structure.

6
Done

Mix 1/4 of flour mix with nuts.

7
Done

Carefully peel your pears and remove seeds from them.

8
Done

Add soaked raisins to the nuts.

9
Done

And grate the pear on the biggest grater.

10
Done

Create a well in the center of your flour mixture and transfer all the measured sugar there.

11
Done

Pour the oil over the sugar.

12
Done

Break up eggs and add them on sugar.

13
Done

Next, stir the walnut filling into the batter.

14
Done

Mix the pear bread batter until it's smooth.

15
Done

Oil two 9x2-inch forms or one 10-inch tube. Quickly pour batter into each of them.

16
Done

Bake them for 50-60 minutes, until breads are nicely browned. Let it cool completely before removing from form and cutting. If desired, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top or pour some sort of easy glaze.
