Ingredients

250 g (8.18 oz) Wheat Bran Bread You may also try varieties with oat bran, or go traditional way by taking a ciabatta or a baguette.
1 tsp (5 g/0.18 oz) Hard Cheese I used the famous Lithuanian cheese Dziugas, which is quite similar to parmesan, but its taste is tender and sweeter due to the use of pasteurized milk.
3 cloves (9 g/0.32 oz) Garlic
40 g (1.41 oz) Olive Oil The olive pomace oil works fine for this recipe, as its taste is quite neutral and it's prefect for heating.
1 dash Kosher Salt
1 tsp (2 g/0.07 oz) Oregano You may substitute this herb with sweet marjoram or basic. It's also quite common to add parsley into the garlic bread.
1 tsp (2 g/0.07 oz) Black Pepper Use whole peppercorns and grind them right before cooking

Ingredients

Directions

There are endless options when it comes to making the garlic bread: you may play with the bread variety, used herbs or kind of cheese. Some people prefer it with butter, but it also tastes great with olive oil. That’s the simple side dish as it is.

Steps

1
Done

Grab all the components for this extremely fast and easy side dish. The implementation takes just 20-30 minutes. Preheat your oven, so you won't have to wait when the rest of steps are done.

2
Done

Peel the whole garlic head, but you'll need only three cloves for this recipe.

3
Done

Chop the cloves. Alternatively, you may get your garlic press to mince those bulblets.

4
Done

Take your mortar and pound the black pepper in it, until the peppercorns are finely crushed.

5
Done

Add the ground pepper to your chopped garlic. Use a small bowl to make this process more convenient.

6
Done

Sprinkle some salt over the garlic.

7
Done

Add the ground oregano to the bowl.

8
Done

Next, the pomace oil should poured into the garlic mix.

9
Done

Carefully combine the garlic with spices.

10
Done

Transfer the bread into the baking dish. Cut the loaf in two, make the deep cuts for individual slices, but don't do that all the way. Such slits are needed to keep the garlic seasoning within.

11
Done

Spread the garlic mix thoroughly over the bread. Place the baking dish into the oven for ten minutes.

12
Done

Meanwhile grate the cheese.

13
Done

Sprinkle the bread with grated cheese. Place in the oven for a minute or two.

14
Done

When your cheese is partly melt, the garlic bread is ready. Serve it warm as a side dish with the spinach tuna salad or sweet peppers to get the most needed nutrients within one meal. Enjoy!
