Creamy Cabbage Soup

Cabbage soup is prepared quickly, but it turns out very hearty.

The cabbage is a real storehouse of vitamins. In addition to vitamin C, which all kinds of cabbage are rich in, vitamin PP is contained in this vegetable. Vitamin PP is extremely useful for blood vessels. The B vitamins, also found in cabbage, are used for the prevention of gastric ulcers, while its U vitamins and choline content helps prevent MS. In addition, cabbage is a low-calorie vegetable which is nourishing due to its high fiber content – cabbage is therefore loved by those who want to lose weight.

Cabbage soup is easily prepared but very hearty. In this preparation, the soup does not contain meat, nor products containing carbohydrates. This soup is very dietetic. At the same time it is an extremely tasty soup.



Take 4 large potatoes. Wash and peel the potatoes. It is better to take crumbly potatoes that can be quickly brewed. Cut the potatoes finely.


Put the potatoes in a saucepan. Pour 2.5 liters of water. Put the pan on the stove, cover pan with a lid and turn on maximum power.


While the water in the pan will heat up, prepare the other vegetables. Take 1 large onion. Peel the onion and chop the onion as finely as possible. Pour olive oil into a large pan (50 ml). Turn on maximum power, after 3 minutes the olive oil will be rather warm, and you will need to put the onion to the pan. Be sure to stir well the bow. Do not forget to stir periodically the onions while you prepare the other ingredients.


Wash and clean 3 medium carrots. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Wait until the onions acquire golden color. Then send the carrots to the pan to the onion. Stir.


Take 1 kg of cabbage. Cut the cabbage with the edges and chop into small pieces. The pieces should be square, no larger than 1 cm. Put the cabbage in a pan. Stir. Close the pan with a lid. Reduce the power to the average level. Cabbage should be stewed for 20 minutes.


When the cabbage is put out, put a mixture of onions, carrots and cabbage in a pan to potatoes. Wait until water will be boiled. If it is necessary, add more water. Soup should be prepared for another 15 minutes in a low level of the stove.


Take 2 packages of cream cheese. Put the cheese in a saucepan and stir. Take 50 g of any hard cheese, the taste of which you like. It is better to use cheddar. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and send it to the pot. Stir.


Put fresh herbs in the cabbage soup. Dill is very perfect for this soup. Wait until the water comes to a boil again and turn off the stove. Cover the pan with a lid and let the soup to stand by for 20 minutes.


Cabbage soup is ready. You can pour it on the plates. The most delicious soup is obtained if you apply to it the white bread or croutons of white bread.
