Ingredients

Directions

This type of pastry is often made without any special additions. Some raisins or other dried berries can also be added, however, the cranberry scones with fresh cranberries offer the best organoleptic experience. Take delight in it too!

Steps

1
Done

Measure all the components, carefully sort and wash your cranberries. Preheat the oven, the temperature should be set to 220 °C.

2
Done

Sieve the flour into the bowl, add the bigger part of sugar, leaving the one for sprinkling over the molded scones.

3
Done

Add two teaspoons of baking powder into the dry mixture.

4
Done

The baking soda should be added next.

5
Done

Add the salt into your dry mix.

6
Done

Cut the butter into cubes and stir it into dry components.

7
Done

When you achieve the crumbs of your dough to come, pour the buttermilk and keep mixing.

8
Done

Carefully stir the fresh berries into your dough for scones.

9
Done

Sprinkle the surface with some flour and place the dough over. It will be quite sticky, but that's okay.

10
Done

Keep mixing while gradually adding the rest of flour, until the right consistency is achieved.

11
Done

Roll the dough for further molding, don't make the layer too thin.

12
Done

Cut the dough into two parts.

13
Done

Repeat the action to get the quarters.

14
Done

Form each quarter into the rectangular shape and then just cut each piece into six triangles.

15
Done

Use the brush to apply some goat milk over your cranberry scones. Sprinkle some sugar. If you want them softer, you may skip this step. The taste will be fabulous in both cases.

16
Done

Bake the cranberry scones for 15-20 minutes at 220 °C, the exact cooking time depends on the features of your particular oven. Check the centre of your scones with a toothpick to make sure it's done. Serve immediately with a cup of hot tea or a glass of milk.
